We put our major emphasis on creating good healthy soil.
It is in constant production with vegetables, herbs, cover crops, and flowers grown for CSA members. Our mission includes growing nutritious healthy fresh wholesome real food. We treat our land respectfully and do not add any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. We use many different soil-building techniques that improve the health and bio-diversity of the land, such as crop rotations, bio-dynamic practices and cover crops.
We grow food for individual family shares known as CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture). The shares are limited and are accepted on a first come basis. You may purchase online with the link to the right.
How it works
This is a custom share designed ONLY for Tuxworth Springs residents. This is not available at other locations.
We are offering 2 options. The first is a full share, which is a weekly Wednesday delivery starting April 22nd through Wednesday September 9th. This is for 20 weeks at $680 – an average value of $34 per week.
The second option is a half share, which is bi-weekly delivery on the same schedule as the full share. This is for 10 weeks at $350.
The vegetables in your share will be in grocery bags or boxes. Some items will be bunched. It is advised that a cooler be left outside your door on especially hot days that you will not be home to receive your share.
Some of what we grow for this custom share is on the “What We Grow” page. Since this is a partial spring and summer share, those items will be typically included. We will be offering a late summer and autumn share at a later date.
What to do if you can’t make it
You have a couple of options if you know that you’ll miss a CSA drop off.
If you’ll be out of town, you can have a friend or neighbor pick up your share. Please let us know if someone will be picking in your place, where to drop off your items and any contact information. Be sure to educate them what to do with regard to the cooler on hot days.
If you miss a farm share, we cannot double your share for a future distribution; or if you’re a half share, we can adjust an occasional switch but it is very hard to do it every pickup. Remember we are harvesting perishable food that has a short shelf life, once we harvest it, it must be used right then.
If you’ll be available to pick up your share at the farm after hours on Wednesday or Saturday, please let us know BEFORE noon on Tuesday. We rarely get to check email on pickup day.
Refunds & Cancellations
If you receive a bad product from us, let us know and we will provide you a replacement or make it up to you with another product if the one that was bad is no longer available.
As a general rule, we do not give refunds. When you sign up for our Community Supported Agrigulture (CSA) program you are committing to being with us for the entire season that you signed up for. However, we understand that circumstances arise that may inhibit you from continuing in the CSA and we will work with you in those situations as best we can.
